About Chris Prentice

Chris Prentice didn’t choose real estate; real estate chose him!
His first job fresh out of college was in the mortgage department at Fifth Third Bank. He worked for several title companies, and then aligned himself with the Go Melinda Group as the Director of Amazement (he does amazing things every day!). Getting his Realtors license was not only the next step in the progression, it allows Chris to be of more value to the Go Melinda Team. Chris is the guy you call when you want things done. He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty, and will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy. People come to love his tenacious behavior as they realize that when it comes to getting the job done, no stone will be left unturned!
What drives Chris in this profession is making people happy. Buying and selling property can be the most stressful time in a person’s life. Making that journey less stressful, and seeing the smiles when all the paperwork is signed, is his reward. Chris’s personal passion is his children. He loves seeing their smiling faces every morning, and is often astonished at the growth he sees in them on a day-to-day basis.
After spending twenty-two years in the restaurant industry, Chris decided to go to college, and then get a “real job”. In 2009 he began his undergrad journey at Erie Community College in Willamsville, NY. A year later he moved to Holland and transferred to Davenport University. In 2012, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a focus in Accounting. As a senior at Davenport, Chris was a finalist for Student of the Year honors, one of only 10 nominated out of 13,000+ full time students—quite an honor! While working in the mortgage industry after graduation, he enrolled in the Corporate MBA program at Florida International University, and completed his Master’s Degree in December 2013.
Though Chris grew up in Lockport, NY, the Prentice family has made the amazing community of Holland their forever home. When he’s not at work, you can find Chris doing something with his two boys, Jackson and Chance. Whether they take in a Griffins game, cast a few lines into Lake Macatawa, or just go to a local park and play, spending time with them is priority number one outside of work.
